Distribution of Indian Red Cross Relief for IDP's begins
10th November 2009: The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) today commenced the distribution of 660 metric tons of humanitarian relief items donated to IDPs in Vavuniya donated by the Indian Red Cross.
The items include rice, flour, dhal, noodles, chickpeas, tin food, tin fish, cereal, sugar, tea, biscuits, SMA milk powder, baby food, Juice, dry food and medicines. The value of relief items is Rs.16713125.

National Secretary of the SLRCS S.H.Nimal Kumar was also present at the Zone 4 in Manik Farm, Cheddikulam at the initiatial distribution that would be done through the SLRCS Vauvniya branch under the guidance of the Government Agent. With the assistance of volunteers relief items were handed over to 250 families today.
Government Agent of Vauniya Ms. V.M.P.Charles Chairman of SLRCS Vauvniya Braanch Dr. P. Sathyalingham were among the invitees present at the initial distribution.
