Seenimodera Water Supply project - II

  • Seenimadora water supply project is serving a total of 300 beneficiary families (250 families directly displaced from the coastal fishing village and 50 families from Seenimadora village hosting the displaced families). The treatment plant is designed to provide water to more than 400 families.

1 Ampara AMP/03 AmCross GRC Ninthavur distribution improvement & connection to resettlement in Arasadithottam Connection from Kondawattuwana Irrigation tank laying of transmisson to resettlement areas in Arasadithottam II 7 Final draft of the project proposal has been sent to AmCross HQ - Washington, for their comments & which is exted to get within one month time. This was initialy prepared by German Red Cross.
2 AMP/04 AmCross GRC Addalachchenai - distribution improvement & connection to resettlement in Alamkulam, Katchana, Oluwil, Palamunai & Sammunagar Connection from Kondawattuwana Irrigation tank laying of transmisson to resettlement areas in Alamkulam, Katchana, Oluwil, Palamunai & Sammunagar II
3 AMP/05 AmCross GRC Alayadiwembu distribution improvement & connection to resettlement in Kannegipuram, Sagamam & Norochchlai Not finalized yet. II 1.11 NWSD&B is in the process of providing the necessary inputs with regard to project implementation.
4 AMP/14 AmCross (46.6%) GRC Akkaraipattu pipe scheme augmentation Augmentation of Akkaraipattu pipe scheme to connect from Kondawattuwana Irrigation tank. III 2 AmCross is also agreed to provide their funds (71 Km worth of 2 million US$), proposal has been forwarded to their HQ (Washinton) for approval & this is also joint with Ampara 3 & 4.
GRC (53.3%) 2.2 Project proposal for GRC (80 Km and worth of 2.28 Million US$)) has been approved, Project Agreement has been finalized with SLRCS/GRC and NWSDB and signed on 14th July 2006. Agreement for Consultancy services is also under finalization,
5 AMP/15 Committed by IFRC Pottuwil pipe scheme (New scheme) Connection of new network of water supply in Pottuwil town, to attend 45,000 beneficiries from Rottal Irrigation tank. III 5.4 The project depends on the USAID feasibility study for water sources and ground water.The report has been forwarded to RCM & with their comments, now they in process of investigation for Ground Water Sourses.
6 AMP/19 Committed by IFRC Rehabilitation of water treatment plant Samanthurai, Ampara District. Upgrading of equipment in water treatment plant of Samanthurai, Amapra District. 0.2 Project proposal approved, Project Agreement was not signed, 2 different tender process done and quotations received are over budget., Budget reweive is on progress and NWSDB is work on it.
7 AMP/20 Committed by IFRC Sewerage treatment plant Kalmunnai Construction of water treatment plant in Kalmunnai. To be decided NWSD&B has to inform the necessity of this project.
8 Out side MOU GRC GRC Community based project Wadinagala & Kiwulegama Rural water supply and improvement of Sanitation in Wadinagala & Kitulawa areas. 0.35 Design is completed by NWS&DB. Tendering will be take place soon. Community organizations are in process of formulating.

8 Galle GAL/1 IFRC NWSD&B Extension of pipes to resettlement areas. (Including a separate scheme for Galagoda) Connecton from existing main water scheme in Galle Road to resettlement areas designated by Government. II 1.73 Implementation is in progress, 4 sites have been completed & payment was done for have been received for 7 more sites are under implementation, The project has to be completed by the end of June 2007. Payment has been done for 3 site.
9 GAL/2 ARC & FRC have been comitted. Ground water investigation, Rural water supply systems, Dug wells in affected areas where with out drinking water suppply. Supplying of water bowsers, water tanks, clenning and rehabilitation of wells, rehabilitation of damaged wells and latrines in Rural areas. II 0.6 Project proposal ready to be submitted, Ground water investigation by IFRC is in progress, Drilling of tube wells for 10 sites is in progress 9 have been completed by now. 8 gives good yield (more than 100L/min). NWSD&B is in the process of organizing CBOs & providing water facilities to the housing sites covered by this particular project. The project has to be completed by the end of June 2007.
10 GAL/6 Initially IFRC was agreed to fund for this project Dedicated pipelines from Ambalangoda - Balapitiya pumps II 0.5 Project proposal will be ready by end of September.
11 GAL/10 Replacement to Wakwella to Beekka transmisson. Replacement of 7 kilometers of main transmisson pipeline from Wakwella to Beekka. II 2.5 Project proposal will be ready by end of September.

12 Hambantota HAM 01 ARC SLRCS Hamb. Branch Implementing Rainwater harvesting systems in schools and communities. Rainwater harvesting system for 9 schools, 7 in Hambantota and 2 in Tangalle divisions and communities in all divisions. 0.06 Project completed. Final technical report by NWSD&B is on preparation.
13 HAM 02 ARC ARC Moraketiara water supply project Installation of pumps, pipe laying work and construction of treatment plant in order to provide 120 M3 /d to Moraketiara 0.3 Project proposal is done, But this project is related to HAM 05 and the project will finalize on 18th July with SLRCS, ARC & NWSD&B.
14 HAM 03 ARC NWSD&B Chlorination project Provide chlorine tanks to Tangalle and Ambalantota treament plants. 0.01 Project completed.
15 HAM 04 ARC Water supply connection to Hathigala Domestic water supply includes Iron removal plant, pumps, distribution lines, housing connection, feed water reservoir and peak flow storage removels. 0.2 Completed
16 HAM 05 ARC Water supply connection to Seenimodara Domestic water supply includes Iron removal plant, pumps, distribution lines, housing connection, feed water reservoir and peak flow storage removels. 0.48 Completed

17 Jaffna JAF/02 IFRC IFRC Connection of water supply to resettlement areas. Connection of water supply to resettlment areas from Point Pedro to Valveddiththurai (for tsunami victims) II 1.7 TOR & RFP for Consultancy services are ready, 3 party agreement, not yet signed as it was not finalized by IFRC. The project is planned to be completed by end of May 2008.
18 JAF/03 Committed by IFRC Sanitation facilities to resettlment areas. Providing basic sanitation facilities to resettlement areas from Point Pedro to Valveddiththurai (for tsunami victims) II 0.5 Design stage by NWSD&B
19 JAF/08 Committed by IFRC Rural water supply, Jaffna Investgate and assess (well) water supply and hygiene interventions in Western Jaffna Islands. 0.4 Project proposal is ready to be submitted, Design has been done & it has been exceeded the estimates, Further discussion are in progress with relation to budget. NWSD&B has requested in prioritizing the project.

20 Matara MAT/02 AmCross AmCross Pipe laying to resettlment areas including Weligama - Midigama areas. Connection from existing water scheme in Weligama District Division to resettlment areas designated by Government. II 1.94 Consultant has started work in site 08 sites & 4 have been completed by NWS&DB (20 million worth work which has been done by NWS&DB is checking by consultant)
21 MAT/03 Committed by IFRC Ground water assessment, rehabilitation of Dug wells and  Rural water supply systems in affected areas where with out drinking water suppply. Supplying of water bowsers, water tanks, clenning and rehabilitation of wells, rehabilitation of damaged wells and latrines in Rural areas. II 0.06 All work identifed by this project will be included in Matara 2 project.
23 MAT/04 AmCross is verbally agreed. (initially IFRC was agreed to fund for this project) Pipe scheme, Secondary pumping for hilly areas (Kamburugamuwa - Mirissa. Construction of new pump house, elevated tower and distribution network to cover the unserviceable areas and the low pressure area in Kamburugamuwa. II 1.07 NWSD&B is interested in MAT/05 than MAT/04 to be started. Funding will be finalized with in 6 weeks time as it has to get the approval from AmCross HQ-Washington.
24 MAT/05 Committed by IFRC Improvement of distribution to Weligama area. Replacement of AC main transmission from Halalla treatment plant to Weligama - Kottegoda service reservoir. II 3 IFRC has been prepared the Project proposal & it will be submitted to TC by 15th July. Design part will be done by NWSD&B.
25 MAT/06 French RC Distribution improvement to Kudawella area. Construction of new pump house at existing Dickwella - Batheegama reservoir site, supply and installation of pumps and control equipment. II 0.06 FRC is taking over the Replacement of a 2.3 km Main Water Supply Pipeline between Dickwella Ground Reservoir & Naigala Water Tower. Project Proposal will be submitted to TC on 18th July.
26 MAT/07 Distribution improvement of Matara WSS and replacement of Nadugala - Uyanwattamain pumping line Improvement of a new main transmission from Nadugala to Uyanwatta, replacing the existing CI transmission. II 1.5 Concept paper has been approved by AmRC HQ. But NWSD&B has informed that the project is not a priority for this year (Next year 2007).
27 MAT/10 Committed by IFRC Replacement of AC transmission from Devinuwara & Dikwella - III Replacement of AC main transmisson from Devinuwara and Gandara. II 5 The project is on hold for 2007. Estimate has come down. NWSD&B is in the process of finding funds for some stages.
