Promoting better hygiene in the former war zone

09/08/2012 – Mullaitivu, Sri Lanka:  Sri Lanka Red Cross Mullaitivu branch organized a three days hygiene promotion workshop from recently at the Branch Meeting Hall under the Volunteers in Action component with support of the Red Cross Post Conflict Recovery Programme.

25 volunteers actively participated in this programme which was aimed at promoting better hygiene among communities in the area.

Over 75 community members of the communities the Sri Lanka Red Cross is engaged in also took part along with the volunteers.

Prevention of Dengue was also part of this workshop as the participants were educated on cleaning their environment in order to combat this disease.
