Teaching first aid to teachers in Mullativu

23/02/2012 – Mullativu, Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka Red Cross Society Mullaitivu branch organized a Basic First Aid Training Programme for School Teachers in the area from 27th – 30th of January 2012 at Branch Conference Hall under the Volunteer In Action Programme.

Zonal Director of Education and Assistant Director of Education for Physical science were participated as a chief quest to the opening ceremony.

The objective of the workshop is to give the knowledge of first aid to the teachers so that they can in return share the same in schools and to teach the subject to the students.

Steps have also been taken by the Mullativu branch to hold the programme in all the schools in the district in order to promote the first aid knowledge at the school community level.

For the first programme 27 teachers from Mullativu schools were present.
