09/12/2012 – Muthur, Sri Lanka:
The SLRCS Muthur divisional office of the Muthur branch moved to a new building today under the auspices of the President of Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) Jagath Abeysinghe. The president opened this building during his visit to the Trincomalee district to look into activities in the region along with the National Secretary Mr. S. H. Nimal Kumar.
The new building constructed with the support of German Red Cross was unveiled officially amidst distinguished guests.
However, land to construct the building was donated by the Muthur Divisional Chairman Mr. K. Selvaratnam.
While thanking Mr. K. Selvaratnam for his generosity the Trincomalee Chairman Dr. E. G. Gnanakunalan welcomed the guests & urged the volunteers of Muthur to use this building to serve the most vulnerable people in the area, with the engagement of people in that community.
Eastern Provincial Councillor Mr. Nageswaran praised the Trincomalee Branch for their excellent service rendered towards the most vulnerable people in the district.
Muthur Divisional Chairman Mr. K. Selvaratnam delivered the Vote of Thanks & briefed the people about the Red Cross Muthur Division activities.
