12/03/2014 – Colombo, Sri Lanka: The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) held a programme recently at the National Headquarters to ensure the branches that failed to perform to the standards set by the Way Forward Re-Engineering (WF-BRE) Process continue to perform better in the year ahead.

The Director General of SLRCS Tissa Abeywickrama under the provisions made via the WF-BRE called the meeting to ensure that the support from the NHQ level will be granted to these low performing branches.

The Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Kandy, Badulla & Mannar branches failed to perform as per the required standards. These branches will now undergo the necessary changes required to ensure that the quality of services provided through the branches to the public are of highest quality and that the public can continue to trust the services provided by the Society.

“This process is not a penalizing process,” said the Director General of SLRCS Tissa Abeywickrama. “This is to ensure that we give more support and attention to the branches that needs them in order to bring them up to the standard our Society needs to be in. This is a journey that we take together, so we need to support everyone”

The Head of Delegation of IFRC, Sri Lanka Igor Dmitryuk, Deputy Director General of SLRCS Sudath Madugalle, Focal Points of departments, and branch officials were present at the meeting.
