19/06/2017 – Various Locations, Sri Lanka: The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society continues its effort to ensure that people who were affected by floods in rural Sri Lanka will avert another health crisis by ensuring that they are provided with quality medical care within their village.

Accordingly Sri Lanka Red Cross has this time tied up with the Zhongtian Group, one of the world’s largest construction company to provide the necessary platform to provide health care to the people. Accordingly 13 health camps were organized in all 7 worst affected districts to ensure that people are given what is required.

These health camps aimed at providing three key things. Mainly to treat people for their sicknesses that is a direct result of the floods, to educate them of future medical issues that they might face as the flood water recedes and other diseases manage to rise and more importantly how they can take care of themselves against dengue.

All camps were equipped with 10 doctors, 4 nurses and volunteers from the Sri Lanka Red Cross.
