The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) – Colombo Branch, in collaboration with Caltex Sri Lanka, successfully conducted a comprehensive three-day First Aid Training for the Sri Lanka Police. The initiative focused on strengthening the emergency response capabilities of traffic police officers.

Held over a span of three days, the training brought together 135 police officers who underwent hands-on and theoretical sessions on essential first aid skills. The programme aimed to equip them with the knowledge required to respond effectively in road accidents and other critical emergencies they frequently encounter in the line of duty.

This initiative marks an important milestone, having now trained nearly 2,000 traffic police officers to date. It comes in response to the increasing number of traffic accidents nationwide and the urgent need of public safety measures.

This programme is a significant step in building a more resilient and safety-conscious community. By empowering frontline officers with life-saving skills, the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society and Caltex Sri Lanka reaffirm their joint commitment to community service and saving lives when every second counts.
