Integrated Programme enhancing lives of people

22/03/2013 – The Integrated Capacity Development Programme is running under the Organization Development Project of Sri Lanka Red Cross Society since April 2012 up to now at the Monaragala branch by the funding support of Canadian Red Cross. The branch has conducted many activities at the project area to enhance the capacities of the units and the division. This programme is also held to encourage the unit members together with the Red Cross Society.

The main objective of the programme is to develop the unit and the division member’s capacity to more sustainably to provide relevant and productive services to the vulnerable community.

After the discussions were conducted with the unit members and volunteers regarding the purpose of this activity they have decided to support three preschools situated in Wijithapura, Madugama and Karabagoda and National Youth Service Council in the Siyabalanduwa division. They proposed to handover the First Aid boxes and some toys items for preschools. Three preschool teachers were available at the programme with some parents.

On the other hand, they have decided to handover some relevant books for Muthukandiya Thunapiyawara school library. The books have purchased under the instructions of the school principal. The school principal and the Youth Officer from NYSC got the opportunity to address the gathering.

Accordingly this programme was  held on 14th March 2013 because in February the people were busy with their harvesting.
