The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) and the Sri Lanka Resuscitation Council (SLRC) have formalized a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at enhancing lifesaving skills and emergency preparedness across the country.

This collaboration focuses on building capacity and raising public awareness on first aid and resuscitation, ensuring timely and effective responses during emergencies. Key areas of cooperation include:

Training of SLRCS First Aid Trainers – Ensuring trainers are equipped with up-to-date knowledge and skills aligned with international resuscitation standards.

Joint Community and School-Based Programs – Empowering children and communities with essential lifesaving skills to respond confidently in emergencies.

Promotion of Emergency Preparedness – Enhancing public understanding of timely intervention and readiness to act during critical situations.

Through this strategic partnership, both organizations aim to strengthen the preparedness and lifesaving across Sri Lanka, ultimately contributing to safer communities and saving lives.
