Sri Lanka Red Cross Society Concludes DREF Operation for 2024 Inter-Monsoon Floods with Lessons Learned Workshop

The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society, in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), successfully launched and completed a Disaster Response Emergency Fund (DREF) operation to support communities affected by the 2024 inter-monsoon floods in Gampaha, Colombo, and Puttalam districts.

To mark the conclusion of this operation, a Lessons Learned Workshop was held, bringing together teams for in-depth discussions on gaps, best practices, and strategic improvements.

This reflective session not only highlighted key insights to enhance future disaster preparedness and response but also served as a platform to appreciate the invaluable efforts of our volunteers and staff.
