Sri Lanka Red Cross Society Convened National Youth Annual General Assembly and Elections 2026 to Strengthen Youth Leadership
The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) National Youth Annual General Assembly and Elections 2026 was held on 22 August 2026, bringing together youth representatives from 23 SLRCS branches to celebrate achievements, recognise contributions and strengthen youth leadership within the Society.
Former Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the United States, Hon. Mahinda Samarasinghe, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
As part of the elections, Mr. Sachintha Abeysinghe was elected as the National Youth Chairman of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society. We extend our warmest congratulations to Mr. Sachintha Abeysinghe and all newly elected youth leaders, and wish them every success as they take on their new responsibilities.
From community-level action to national engagement, young volunteers remain an essential part of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement- bringing energy, ideas and a strong commitment to serving people and communities.
The AGM marks another step forward in strengthening youth participation, leadership and volunteerism, ensuring that young people continue to play a meaningful role in humanitarian action across Sri Lanka.
