Sri Lanka Red Cross Society Convenes Lesson Learned Workshop on Dengue sEAP

The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS), with the support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), conducted a Lesson Learned Workshop on the simplified Early Action Protocol (sEAP) for Dengue, reflecting on more than a year of implementation across five districts.

The workshop brought together representatives from the National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) of the Ministry of Health, Regional Directorates of Health Services (RDHS), SLRCS branches, and IFRC, providing a space for stakeholders involved in the implementation to collectively reflect on the experience and identify opportunities to strengthen future action.

Discussions focused on what worked well, key achievements, challenges encountered during implementation, areas that did not work as intended, and practical issues that affected implementation. Participants also shared their experiences from the field, highlighting lessons that can help improve coordination, planning, communication, operational processes, and the delivery of early actions.

The workshop also provided an opportunity to identify gaps and areas requiring further attention, while drawing on the insights and experiences of different stakeholders to determine ways forward.
