The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) and the Indira Cancer Trust (ICT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work collaboratively in raising cancer awareness, supporting patients, and extending humanitarian services across Sri Lanka.

Under this partnership, the SLRCS will serve as the official ambulance and first aid partner for the TLC (Touch | Look | Check) Triathlon 2025 — Sri Lanka’s first-ever nationwide triathlon series dedicated to promoting breast cancer awareness.

The triathlon series will be held in four locations across the country as follows:

  • 5th October – Kilinochchi (Rodrigo Grounds)

  • 12th October – Batticaloa (Weber Grounds)

  • 19th October – Matara (Kotawila Grounds)

  • 26th October – Colombo (Independence Square)

Each event will feature swimming, cycling, and running competitions, aimed at raising awareness of the TLC method of breast self-examination – a simple yet vital practice that empowers women to take charge of their health through early detection.

Through this partnership, the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society further strengthens its commitment to humanitarian service, health promotion, and the creation of a healthier, more resilient nation for generations to come.
