Sri Lanka Red Cross Society Strengthens Dengue Prevention Efforts Through Community Cleanup Campaign

The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Ratnapura Branch, in collaboration with the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) Office, conducted a dengue prevention cleanup campaign within the Ratnapura Municipal Council area as part of the National Dengue Control Programme.

The initiative aimed to reduce the risk of dengue transmission by identifying and eliminating potential mosquito breeding sites while strengthening community awareness on dengue prevention measures. SLRCS volunteers actively engaged with communities during the campaign, inspecting public areas and residential surroundings, removing possible breeding grounds, and educating residents on the importance of maintaining a clean environment.
