Sri Lanka Red Cross Society Strengthens Humanitarian Response Capacity Through 3-Day Cash and Voucher Assistance Workshop

The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) conducted a three-day workshop on Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA), supported by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

The workshop was designed to strengthen the knowledge, technical capacity, and practical skills of SLRCS teams in the effective delivery and scaling up of humanitarian assistance through Cash and Voucher Assistance. By enhancing the understanding of CVA approaches, the training contributed to strengthen the Society’s ability to provide timely, appropriate, and effective support to vulnerable communities.

The sessions brought together experts and regional facilitators who are sharing valuable technical expertise, global perspectives, and real-world case studies. These practical learning opportunities enabled participants to gain a deeper understanding of CVA and its application in humanitarian response.

Through this initiative, SLRCS continued to invest in strengthening the capacity of its teams and enhancing its preparedness to respond to the evolving needs of communities affected by disasters and other humanitarian challenges.

The workshop reflected the continued collaboration between SLRCS and IFRC in strengthening humanitarian response mechanisms and ensuring that assistance reaches vulnerable communities in an effective and appropriate manner.
