The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS), with the support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Emergency Appeal, is providing conditional cash grants of LKR 100,000 to 50 families in Nuwara Eliya District under its nationwide Livelihood Development Programme.

As part of this initiative, the SLRCS Nuwara Eliya Branch is conducting monitoring visits and engaging in discussions with beneficiaries to support the effective use of the grants for livelihood activities. These visits provide an opportunity to assess progress, understand the challenges faced by families, and offer guidance to help beneficiaries strengthen and sustain their livelihoods.

Through continued monitoring and support, SLRCS is standing alongside affected families throughout their livelihood development journey, helping them move towards greater economic stability and self-reliance.

This assistance forms part of SLRCS’s ongoing efforts to support the long-term recovery of communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah, enabling families to rebuild their livelihoods, strengthen resilience, and work towards a more secure future.
