Sri Lanka Red Cross Society and Changshin University Forge Strategic Partnership for Humanitarian Action, Disaster Management, and Academic Advancement

In a landmark step towards strengthening humanitarian, educational, and cross-cultural collaboration, the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) and Changshin University of South Korea signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) at the SLRCS National Headquarters in Colombo.

This partnership seeks to strengthen cooperation in disaster management, community safety, volunteer exchange, international research, and educational development. It also paves the way for Sri Lankan students particularly those trained by the Red Cross Institute to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Changshin University.

Key components of the partnership include:

• Joint disaster resilience initiatives

• Volunteer exchange programs

• Scholarships for underprivileged students

• A fully funded Master’s degree program in Disaster Management

• Academic opportunities with tuition reductions, accommodation during language training, and career guidance in Korea

This collaboration marks another significant milestone in the SLRCS’s commitment to empowering future generations and equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and global exposure needed to shape purposeful and brighter futures.
