SLRCS and IFRC Present Comprehensive Findings from Rapid Multisectoral Needs Assessment to Guide Recovery Efforts for Communities Affected by Tropical Cyclone Ditwah
The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS), in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), held a briefing to share the findings of the Rapid Multisectoral Needs Assessment (RMNA) conducted among households impacted by Tropical Cyclone Ditwah.
The briefing brought together representatives from the diplomatic community, government institutions, United Nations agencies, non-governmental organizations, partners, and humanitarian stakeholders.
The assessment surveyed 1,355 households across 20 affected districts. The findings provide critical, people-centered evidence on recovery priorities, dignity-related concerns, and economic stabilization needs, supporting coordinated and inclusive recovery planning.
Through its nationwide network and the deployment of approximately 400 trained enumerators, SLRCS ensured access to remote and less visible households, reaffirming its commitment to placing affected communities at the centre of humanitarian decision-making.
