Sri Lanka Red Cross Society Marks International Women’s Day
The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) celebrated International Women’s Day, recognizing and appreciating the valuable contributions of women and girls who serve as staff and volunteers, making a meaningful difference in the lives of the most vulnerable communities across the country.
As part of the commemoration, a special awareness session was conducted in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA Sri Lanka), focusing on Relationships, Family Planning, and Menstrual Health. The session engaged 70 staff members of SLRCS, creating an open platform for learning and discussion.
Women’s health and well-being are crucial. The interactive session aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of sexual and reproductive health and rights. It also emphasized the importance of building respectful relationships and fostering menstrual dignity in both personal and professional environments.
