Sri Lanka Red Cross Society Meets UK Deputy Prime Minister

The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) held a high-level meeting with the UK Deputy Prime Minister, David Lammy, to discuss ongoing humanitarian interventions and collaborative efforts to support vulnerable communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah across Sri Lanka.

During the engagement, discussions focused on strengthening assistance for disaster-affected families and enhancing long-term recovery and resilience initiatives. The Deputy Prime Minister also met with SLRCS young volunteers, acknowledging their dedication and frontline role in community recovery and humanitarian response efforts.

SLRCS expressed its sincere appreciation to the people of the United Kingdom for their solidarity and continued support during this time of crisis. The Society reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining constructive dialogue and partnership to ensure sustained assistance reaches those most in need across Sri Lanka.
